Eaken Piano Trio

Established in the mid-1980s by John Eaken and Nancy Baun, this trio has become acclaimed for their concert appearances and recordings.

For nearly 10 years, until 2000, they were resident at the Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pennsylvania and they continue to take residencies throughout America, with them being recognised by Chamber Music America as having one of the five most successful programs in the United States which integrates music into many of the different classes such as science, art and history.

Having a demanding touring calendar, they are regular performers nationally and in Europe and Asia, and in 2006 they were the representatives of the Pennsylvania Performing Arts on Tour.

Making many recordings they have covered works by Maurice Ravel, Joaquin Turina, Haydn, Gershwin and Lalo Schifrin among many others and their Christmas recordings, which include the Grammy Award nominated I’ll Be Home For The Holidays, were best sellers for the recording company Naxos.

Known for their annual holiday radio programme I’ll Be Home For the Holidays, it is co-ordinated by Habitat for Humanity International and in keeping with their charitable concerns they have also raised many thousands of dollars for homeless people and animals in outreach community programmes.
