(Traditional 15th Century/Stephen Paulus)
This Christmas carol was written in the 15th century and was published in The Oxford Book of Carols. The composer and arranger Stephen Paulus wrote his arrangement of it as part of his “Three Nativity Carols” which had been commissioned by the Dale Warland Singers.
The piece was arranged for chorus, harp and oboe and dedicated to Gene (Whit) Whitacre and the Dale Warland Singers who performed the premiere under the conductorship of Dale Warland.
The song has been recorded on Wonder Tidings: Christmas Music of Stephen Paulus by David Dickau and Magnum Chorum and Christmas with the Dale Warland Singers by the Dale Warland Singers.
