Parsons, Stephen

He is a trombonist, music director and teacher who studied at the University of Kansas and the Tanglewood Institute.

In his professional career he has performed with the Tulsa Philharmonic, the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra and the New Sousa Band, as Assistant Principal Trombonist, Soloist and Brass Quintet member for the United States Army Field Band in Washington DC,  and currently is a member of the Peoria Symphony Orchestra, the Illinois State Faculty Brass Quintet, the Illinois Symphony Orchestra and the Opera Illinois Orchestra.

In musical education he has been a clinician at the Bands of America Summer Symposium, the Uniterd States Army Field Band clinician at high schools and colleges and since 1994 he has held the position of Associate Professor of Trombone at Illinois State University.
