South, Nick

He is a bass guitarist who was with The Roy Young Band from 1971 to 1972; with whom he appeared as the backing band for Chuck Berry on his No. 1 single “My Ding-a-Ling”.

In 1977 he toured with Donovan and appeared on his self-titled album and he was a part of the group Cafi Society. Also in 1977 he became a member of the band Sniff ‘n’ the Tears, which was a reformation of the group Ashes of Moon and later he would join the Yoko Ono Band and the Steve Marriott All-Stars.

In 1985 he joined the newly formed TimeUK and their first single, “The Cabaret”, saw success with sales of over 60,000 copies. Other artists he has appeared with are Murray Head, Peter Green, Gary Hoey and many others.

He went on to become a music editor and he has worked on many film productions in that capacity.
