Bassoonist and principal contrabassoonist with the London Symphony Orchestra who has also worked with the LSO Chamber Ensemble and the Philharmonia.

On 17^th March 1987, he and Rosemary Barnes and Judith Thomas gave the world premiere of Paul Carr’s “Divertimento” in London Coliseum under the umbrella of the English National Opera Lunchtime Concert Series.

The LSO offered up Gustav Mahler’s “Symphony No. 4 in G major” and Franz Schubert’s “Symphony No. 5 in B flat major” at Lincoln Center on 21^st October 2009.

On 16^th November 2010, the LSO Chamber Ensemble teamed up with soprano Lucy Hall, baritone Piran Legg, the LSO St. Luke’s Community Choir, the LSO St. Luke’s Youth Choir Senior Choristers and mezzo-soprano Kathryn McAdam at Jerwood hall for the world premiere of Cicadas by Dagny Gioulami and Edward Rushton.

The LSO joined forces with the American Boychoir tenor Ian Bostridge, soprano Sabina Cvilak, baritone Simon Keenlyside and the London Symphony Chorus at Lincoln Center in a performance of Benjamin Britten’s War Requiem on 23^rd October 2011.

On 2^nd October 2012, the LSO were joined by mezzo-soprano Elina Garanca for an evening of opera highlights that included “Mon couer s’ouvre a ta voix” from Samson et Dalila by Camille Saint-Saens, “Plus grand, dans son obscurite” from La Reine de Saba by Charles Gounod and “Yes, the time has come” from The Maid of Orleans by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

The LSO took the stage with the St. Lawrence String Quartet for the U.K. premiere of John Adams’ “Absolute Jest for String Quartet and Orchestra” on 27^th January 2013. The concert opened with Aaron Copland’s suite from Appalachian Spring and Elliott Carter’s “Variations for Orchestra”.

He can also be heard on the soundtracks of Atlantis, Leon: The Professional, The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.

In the field of music education, he has given master classes for the YouTube Symphony Orchestra and served on the faculty of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in Greenwich, London.
