Clark, Heather

She is a flautist who began playing the instrument when she was nine and went on to later receive her Bachelor of Music degree for Flute Performance at the University of Southern California.  She has been active in the music industry in Los Angeles ever since where she performs as a studio and orchestral musician.

As an orchestral musician she has performed with many ensembles since the mid-1990s such as the Los Angeles Music Center Opera, the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and the Los Angeles Philharmonic among others.

In 1994 she won the National Flute Association’s Young Artist Competition and the following year she was awarded the position of Principal Flute with the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra.

In 2003 she accepted the position of Principal Flute with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and just two years later she took on the same job with the Pacific Symphony Orchestra.

Her work in the recording studio has seen her work with popular singers, conductors and composers that include Andrea Bocelli, Danny Elfman, Josh Groban, Bette Midler, Randy Newman, Alan Silvestri, Barbra Streisand and John Williams as just a few of many.

Her work in the movie music studios can be heard on more than 100 film soundtracks that include Blades of Glory, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Devil Wears Prada, Hancock, King Kong, The Legend of Zorro, Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tuck Everlasting, War Horse and X-Men.  She has also performed on the soundtracks for the video games Lost Planet 2 and Resident Evil 5.

In the field of musical education she has established Heather Clark’s Audition Boot Camp which is a two-day seminar to assist flautists in their preparation for attending auditions.
