I just wanted to mention the fact that Vera Lynn, who was Britain's "Forces Sweetheart" had her 90th birthday a couple of days ago and is still going strong as far as I'm aware.
She worked so hard during the war years, and afterwards, to bring entertainment to the forces and she was responsible for the songs everyone used to sing to help get them through the Blitz and the terrible bombings that London endured.
She's probably most remembered for "The White Cliffs of Dover" and "We'll Meet Again".

I'm not going to let my history pull me down and hold me back, you see.
Happy Birthday to a lovely singer...
I remember my grandmother singing those songs especially "We'll Meet Again!"
Kudos to a wonderful lady who did a lot for her land and people.

I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way!
