I missed this a couple of days ago!

Post by tmac396 »

On July 18th it had been 41 years since Bobby Fuller's body was found doused in gasoline on the front seat of his car. This was shortly after "I Fought the Law" was a hit. He had a promising future and a ton of great songs recorded. Incredibly the case was originally listed as a suicide! Sadly, the case is still unsolved to this day. RIP Bobby.

Toolin' down the highway doing 79,
I'm a twin-pipe papa and I'm feeling fine...

...about Bobby Fuller other than the Bobby Fuller four. I had never heard about the things surrounding his death either. That is so sad. :(
I'm not going to let my history pull me down and hold me back, you see.

What a sad thing to hear though. I wonder what really happened.
I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way!

They are one of my major pet obscure bands. I have a great anthology CD set. Lots of good songs. I think he may have been murdered by a mob figure. He was reported to have been seeing this mob figure's girlfriend before his death. Ths crime scene was a joke. Bobby was reported to have ingested and been doused in gasoline, and one policeman threw away the gas can that was in the car with him. How stupid can you get?

...is it seems that kind of thing wasn't as rare as we think, especially in music. If you look at Jimmie Rodgers entry on here you'll see what I mean. :?
