Jerry Wexler passes away at the age of 91...

Post by jodlyn »

This from Yahoo music news.
NEW YORK - Legendary record producer Jerry Wexler, who helped shape R&B music with influential recordings of Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles and other greats, and later made key recordings with the likes of Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson, has died, said his son, Paul. He was 91.

Wow, he certainly worked with the greats of soul music as well and shaped how soul music became so accepted as Rhythm and Blues. There must be some kind of blues concert going on in heaven now. :1301:

RIP Mr. Wexler.

May he rest in peace

He will live on with a lifetime of wonderful work he left us to enjoy. :)
I'm not going to let my history pull me down and hold me back, you see.

Very sad...

It was so sad to read this. Some truly great music came from Atlantic records. From Ruth Brown to the Coasters to Dusty Springfield to Led Zeppelin. MUCH too many to list. Fee's right...he will live on through the great music. Rest in peace.
Toolin' down the highway doing 79,
I'm a twin-pipe papa and I'm feeling fine...

I was reading where LeRoi Moore of the Dave Matthews band died from his accident injuries. It's such a loss for the band and the world of music especially jazz music. May both of them rest in peace.

Good morning to you! I hope you have a good weekend planned. :1013:
