Amazing how an ocean can make such a difference.

Well now that I virtually commute between Scotland and St. Louis every couple of months I can tell you that my musical education has been broadened beyond belief. Mind you I return the favour. 8)

The Rockin' Rebels

Bunch of guys from Buffalo, NY. "Wild Weekend" was their sole claim to fame and was adopted by lots of DJ's in the early sixties as their theme song. Wish I could have found a link. Hey...bonus points???

Wow, what a commute. Hey, my dad's parents came to America from Edenburgh...I long to see the homeland.

The Tornados

Post by tmac396 »

The first British band (Pre-Beatles) to hit #1 in the US. The song was "Telstar" in 1963. Followed by "Riding the Wind" which was a good song, but I don't think it ever cracked the top 40. Managed by the late (and apparantly quite insane) Joe Meek. He committed suicide and the band never found out what happened to all of their royalties. Rock and roll...

This group had a few hits in the UK in the 1980s. From what I remember they were pretty classic Europop.

Edinburgh will have changed a lot since they came over but it's still a beautiful city. I'm in the country but I go there every now and again to see family.

Is David Gates still around?

I will admit that I am probably one of the only people on earth who is not an ABBA fan, even though I do have stuff by them.
