Trivia Game

Post by jodlyn »

Even though this game also involves single artists, it is a band trivia game also. The questions may involve many bands and artists, so you have to look at the multiple choice answers and keep right in that small group.

I'll post one every day, and you can also. Let's see how much we know off the top of our heads, but you can research it eventually.

I got the first one wrong right away. :P

Which band was named for a paint color?

1. Deep Purple
2. Deacon Blue
3. Blue Cheer
4. Beaver Brown Band

Good luck! :)

Cool game!!!

Post by tmac396 »

i love it! Let' see..."Deacon Blue" was a Steely Dan song..."Deep Purple" was also a song... "Beaver Brown" just sounds too suggestive to be a paint color...so, I'm going with "Blue Cheer"... :17418:

so, I'm going with "Blue Cheer"... :17418:
Buzzerrrrrrrrrr! Nope!

You said the same exact thing I said! :)

It was the Beaver Brown band, and I too thought it was just too suggestive to be named after a paint color. Great minds think alike! :P

Next question:

Which band was named for the title of a book about sex?

1. Velvet Revolver
2. Velvet Underground
3. Sex Pistols
4. Whitesnake

This game is innocent..really it is! :5086:

Hmmmmmm....

...I'm going with "Velvet Underground" because it sounds suggestive enough without being TOO suggestive. Besides, knowing Lou Reed, this sounds like something he would do.

IF i remember correctly...

Post by tmac396 »

...that was "The Amboy Dukes."

Three Dog Night...I beleive that referred to a cold night i Wales, Maybe? The coldness had a factor on how many dogs you slept with for warmth.

"The Amboy Dukes."
Correct again. I'm going to have find something harder. :)

Close enough. Danny Hutton's girlfriend was reading a story about how Australian aborigines sleep with their dogs for warmth. The colder it was, the more dogs allowed in. I can't sleep with my one dog because he gives off so much warmth. I can't imagine sleeping with more.

Next up:

Which band was named for ...

How about...

Post by tmac396 »

...The Quarrymen?

Beatles and Silver Beatles were an homage to Buddy Holly and the Crickets. Johnny and the Moon Dogs...I always figured that was a surf reference.
