Okay...

Post by tmac396 »

That's "I'm Into Something Good" by Herman's Hermits. It was originally recorded by Earl-Jean and was written by the great team of Gerry Goffin and Carol King. Great song!

Okay...try these. A little more obscure perhaps...

You think that you're such a smart girl
And I'll believe what you say
But who do you think you are girl
To lead me on this way, hey
Toolin' down the highway doing 79,
I'm a twin-pipe papa and I'm feeling fine...

Re: Hmmm...I had to really think back for this one!

I'm not sure if I'm right either, but is this "Lies" by the Knickerbockers? I remember being at a cousin's house and watching this show called, "Where the Action Is" with Dick Clark. I remember also thinking they sounded just like the Beatles.

If I'm right, then here's my song lyrics. Try this one! :)

I got the same old friends
They got the same old sins
I tell the same old jokes
Give the same old grins
I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way!

Brand New Me - Aretha Franklin

Post by fiona »

Dusty Springfield did it too. 8)

Here's more...

I find me a place in a box car,
So I take my guitar to pass some time
Late at night when it's hard to rest
I hold your picture to my chest and I feel fine
I'm not going to let my history pull me down and hold me back, you see.

Good song, Fee!

That's "A Rainy Night in Georgia" by Brook Benton!

Try these...

I lost at love before
Got mad and closed the door
But you said "Try, just once more"
Toolin' down the highway doing 79,
I'm a twin-pipe papa and I'm feeling fine...

You Made Me So Very Happy - BS&T

Post by PapaMouse »

Try these:

With your nose pressed to the window,
Life is just a mirror of your mind.
You can find much more to get into.
Make up your mind, baby, now is the time.

Time to live life like a lover.
Time to keep time from keepin' you down.
Time to get it all together.
Lord, you have filled my cup so full,
How can I fear tomorrow?

I haven't heard this song in ages. Thanks for posting it, Papa! It's good to see you! :7207:

Now for mine. It's an easy one!

I finally got to talk to you
And I told you just exactly how I felt
Then I held you close to me and kissed you
And my heart began to melt
I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way!

Dizzy - Tommy Roe.

Hiya, Jody :5086: . :1013:

Try these lyrics on for size:

I can't believe that this is the girl next door.
That funny little face isn't funny no more.
Sixteen and oh what a dream!
Ain't it strange how she changed...
Lord, you have filled my cup so full,
How can I fear tomorrow?

Next Door to an Angel - Neil Sedaka

Post by fiona »

I like Neil. :D

Try these easy ones...

Well there's technicolor and cinemascope
A cast out of Hollywood
And the popcorn from the candy stand
Makes it all seem twice as good
I'm not going to let my history pull me down and hold me back, you see.

Re: Saturday Night at the Movies by the Drifters

Post by jodlyn »

They're one of my very favorite groups! I once saw them in concert, and they sound as good as they do on their albums.

Try this one:

Is it too much to ask
I want a comfortable bed that won't hurt my back
Food to fill me up
And warm clothes and all that stuff
I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way!

I saw them too and you're very right about them sounding as good live. :D

Not so sure about those lyrics though. I'll need to think on them.
I'm not going to let my history pull me down and hold me back, you see.

Okay...

Jody, your song is "Passionate Kisses" by Mary Chapin-Carpenter, who I LOVE!

Okay, gang. Try these...

I've got your memory, or has it got me?
I really don't know, but I know it won't let me be.
I've got your class ring that proved you cared,
And it still looks the same as when you gave it, dear.
The only thing different,
The only thing new ~
Toolin' down the highway doing 79,
I'm a twin-pipe papa and I'm feeling fine...

Re: I think it's "She's Got You" by Patsy Cline

Post by jodlyn »

Wonderful song by a gifted singer. I've always loved Patsy Cline.

Try this one:

Green September burned to October brown,
Bare November led to December's frozen ground.
The seasons stumbled 'round
our drifting lives are bound
I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way!

Crescent Noon - The Carpenters

Post by fiona »

Sad song. :(

Try these ones...

You can bend but never break me
'cause it only serves to make me
More determined to achieve my final goal
And I come back even stronger
Not a novice any longer
'cause you've deepened the conviction in my soul
I'm not going to let my history pull me down and hold me back, you see.

Good song, Fee and so true! :7207:

*Sigh* I'm sorry! I felt sad for a while, but things have a way of working out even when we don't think so.

Try this recent country hit:

Yeah, Yeah
What you got if you ain't got love
the kind that you just want to give away
its okay to open up
go ahead and let the light shine through
I know it's hard on a rainy day
you want to shut the world out and just be left alone
but don't run out on your faith
I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way!

So Small - Carrie Underwood

Post by fiona »

Try these ones...

You didn't run, you didn't lie
You knew I wanted just to hold you
And had you gone you knew in time we'd meet again
For I had told you
I'm not going to let my history pull me down and hold me back, you see.
