A clue.

Post by PapaMouse »

Think of a father calming his child after a nightmare.
Lord, you have filled my cup so full,
How can I fear tomorrow?

Perhaps a bit more of the lyrics would help?

There's a place I like to hide,
A doorway that I run to in the night.
Relax child, you were there,
But only didn't realize it and you were scared.
It's a place where you will learn
To face your fears, retrace the tears
And ride the whims of your mind
Lord, you have filled my cup so full,
How can I fear tomorrow?

Is it Silent Lucidity?

Post by jodlyn »

My son really liked Queensryche. He gave me a framed copy of the song lyrics when he was younger because he knew I suffered from terrible night terrors. I still have it.

If that's correct, then here's the next clue:

You see the face on the tv screen
Coming at you every sunday
See that face on the billboard
That man is me
I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way!

Toolin' down the highway doing 79,
I'm a twin-pipe papa and I'm feeling fine...

OK, OK, so I should have looked at this one before

It's "Jesus He Knows Me" by Genesis. Great song. 8)

Here's some more...

I wanna be high, so high
I wanna be free to know
The things I do are right
I wanna be free
Just me!
I'm not going to let my history pull me down and hold me back, you see.

That one's easy, Fee.

Post by PapaMouse »

Really. It's "Easy" by The Commodores (when Lionel Ritchie was their lead singer.)

Try these:

And I must see you again
We'll have one more night together
til the morning brings my train.
And I must go
Lord, you have filled my cup so full,
How can I fear tomorrow?

Last Train to Clarksville

One of my favourite Monkees songs. Good song Papamouse. :D

Try these easy ones...

Fill my life with song
And let me sing forevermore
You are all I hope for
All I worship and adore
I'm not going to let my history pull me down and hold me back, you see.

"Fly Me to the Moon" :8827:

"a brown-eyed girl in hand-me-downs
whose name I never could pronounce
said 'Pity please the ones who serve.
They only get what they deserve.'"

At Seventeen - Janis Ian

Great song. :D

Try these...

In a cafe or sometimes on a crowded street
I've been near you, but you never noticed me
I'm not going to let my history pull me down and hold me back, you see.

My Cherie Amour - Stevie Wonder

Another great song. :8827:

"If I swallow anything evil,
put your finger down my throat.
If I shiver, please give me a blanket.
Keep me warm. Let me wear your coat."

Behind Blue Eyes - The Who

Try this song. (Shouldn't be too hard for you fine folk.)

Everyone gather round let me tell you all
About it
You see I pulled into a drive-in and
I found a place to park
Lord, you have filled my cup so full,
How can I fear tomorrow?

wonderful Loggins & Messina song. :17091:

Try these...

Didnt hear your wicked words every day
And you used to be so sweet I heard you say
That my love was an addiction
I'm not going to let my history pull me down and hold me back, you see.

Wow...

I can't believe that I know that this is "Karma Chameleon" by Culture Club. :D

Here's a line from one of my favorite songs. Let's see if you get THIS one!

Bits of me are scattered in the trees and on the hedges...
Toolin' down the highway doing 79,
I'm a twin-pipe papa and I'm feeling fine...

That's "Crawling from the Wreckage"

Post by fiona »

I do like Dave Edmunds. :D

Try these...

I'm gonna hit the highway like a battering ram
On a silver-black phantom bike
When the metal is hot, and the engine is hungry
And we're all about to see the light
I'm not going to let my history pull me down and hold me back, you see.

That's "Bat Out of Hell"

By Meatloaf. Great song, album, AND album cover!

Now...lets get a little more mellow...

Southern California that's as blue as the boy can be
Blue as the deep blue sea
Won't you listen to me now
I need your golden gated cities like a hole in the head
Just like a hole in the head, I'm free
Toolin' down the highway doing 79,
I'm a twin-pipe papa and I'm feeling fine...
