That's "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd...
...sad song. Refering to Syd Barrett if I'm not mistaken .
How's about this...
Valentine is done
Here but now they're gone
Romeo and Juliet
Are together in eternity...
How's about this...
Valentine is done
Here but now they're gone
Romeo and Juliet
Are together in eternity...
Toolin' down the highway doing 79,
I'm a twin-pipe papa and I'm feeling fine...
I'm a twin-pipe papa and I'm feeling fine...
Don't Fear the Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult??
Or has it been done by someone else? My mind is a blank today..see what happens when sleeping in is done?
The full moon is calling
The fever is high
And the wicked wind whispers
And moans
The full moon is calling
The fever is high
And the wicked wind whispers
And moans
I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way!
That's "One of These Nights" by The Eagles...
Hiya Jody. Yeah, I like almost everything the Eagles did, too. "Desperado" is probably my favorite album.
Here's another...
Dance hall girls were the evenin' treat
Empty cartridges and blood lined the gutters of the street
Men were shot down for the sake of fun
Or just to hear the noise of their forty-four guns
Here's another...

Toolin' down the highway doing 79,

I'm a twin-pipe papa and I'm feeling fine...
Fire On the Mountain by the Marshall Tucker Band...
That is one great song! Thanks for putting it on here. Now I'm going to go look for it.
Was I right on the Blue Oyster Cult? I wasn't quite sure...
I'm in heaven, I get carried away
I dream of him and me and wonder how it's gonna be
All the fellows call me up for a date
But I sit and wait.
How are you today?

Fire on the Mountain - The Marshall Tucker Band
Good album
Erm tmac..... I just wanted to let you know that my last song was "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" but it was from the "Wish You Were Here" album and it was a tribute to Syd Barrett.
Here's more lyrics.....
Looking at the world
Through the sunset in your eyes
Traveling the train
To clear Moroccan skies

Come and Get It - Badfinger
Try these ones...
If I could make a wish I think I'd pass
Can't think of anything I need
No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound
Nothing to eat, no books to read
I'm not going to let my history pull me down and hold me back, you see.
The Air that I Breathe by Simply Red...
We've never played this little game before
If you relax then you'll enjoy it more
Just settle down and let me teach you how
Closer, closer, now
I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way!
Kiss Me Honey, Honey - Shirley Bassey and others.
Here's more.....
Measles make you bumpy
And mumps'll make you lumpy
And chicken pox'll make you jump and twitch
I'm not going to let my history pull me down and hold me back, you see.
That's "Poison Ivy" by the Coasters...
...written by Leiber and Stoller, I think.
How about this one...
I left my baby and I feel so bad
I guess my race is run
She's the best thing that I ever had...

I Fought the Law - Roy Orbison/The Clash
Yes tmac: Poison Ivy was by Leiber and Stoller. Funny you should mention them. I added them to the site today and will post them tonight (well at 6:00 your time I think).
Some more....
But February made me shiver
With every paper I'd deliver
Bad news on the doorstep
I couldn't take one more step

Cool...that's "American Pie" by Don McLean...
..."The day the music died." February 2, 1959. Clear Lake, Iowa. I'm a big Buddy Holly fan and I really like this song.
try this one...
So blow, you old Blue Northern
Blow my love to me
He's drivin' in tonight from California
He loves his damned old rodeo
As much as he loves me
And the Bobby Fuller Four!I Fought the Law - Roy Orbison/The Clash

That one's "Someday Soon", by Judy Collins.
Since you're a big Buddy Holly fan, it might interest you to know that "I Fought the Law" was also recorded by The Crickets... in 1961! (Obviously, recorded without Mr Holly. They continued on after he left the group. But without him, they couldn't reach the heights he did.)tmac396 wrote:...I'm a big Buddy Holly fan...And the Bobby Fuller Four!I Fought the Law - Roy Orbison/The Clash
By the by, "Marrakesh Express" was by Crosby Stills and Nash (before Young).
And jody , I don't think I've ever heard Simply Red's version of "The Air That I Breathe". I've only heard it by The Hollies. (And I think they recorded it after Graham Nash left for CSN.)
But I digress...
Try this one:
Long ago, it must be...
I have a photograph.
Preserve your memories.
They're all that's left you.
Lord, you have filled my cup so full,
How can I fear tomorrow?
How can I fear tomorrow?
Bookends - Simon and Garfunkel
As everyone is so damn good at the this, try these:
There is a young cowboy, he lives on the range.
His horse and his cattle are his only companions;
He works in the saddle and he sleeps in the canyons,
Waiting for summer, his pastures to change

Why, that's "Sweet Baby James" by James Taylor...

Everywhere I go
Your face I see
Every step I take
You take with me, yeah
Everywhere I go
Your face I see
Every step I take
You take with me, yeah
