Album covers.

Post by tmac396 »

Got any favorites? Any that you just LOATHE? I want to see them!

I am SO stoked by this one every time I see it. I like it so much that it's framed and hanging in my game room.

This neat little roadster was a member of the famed LA Roadsters club and is reported to still exist in this condition. Sorry...I'm also a dyed-in-the-wool gearhead and I can't help sharing these things... :D

Do you know how hard it is to Google "The Association&q

I've always liked the cover of one of The Association's lesser-known albums, their self-titled fourth:

I like the idea of a Stonehenge-like structure on the moon.

I also like the cover of The Ventures' "Walk Don't Run". The group had already left for a tour, when someone realized they didn't have a photo for the album cover. So they hired 4 guys who maybe looked a little like The Ventures, and put them in the background, out of focus, sprawled out among some guitars and drums. In the foreground was a pretty girl (implying that she's the reason the guys are falling down).

I just adore Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin

Good thread, Tmac. :)

I like this one by the Cure. Robert Smith's nieces and nephews drew the art for it. It's great.

I also like this one by the Moody Blues. I love this kind of scenery.

I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way!

Thanks Jody! Of course you know, that you beat me to the draw with that Moody Blues cover! I actually did a charcoal drawing of that cover in my high school art class and the teacher liked it so much that she asked if she could keep it. She was gorgeous and I had a major crush on her, so...she kept it! :D

Here's another gearhead cover of mine. Featuring Clarence "Chili" Catallo's classic chopped coupe. It has recently been restored to it's album cover glory.

I've never seen that one, Fee. Thanks! :5170:

Here's another of my whimsical favorites from Herb Alpert...

I'll bet you loved her keeping that drawing since you had a major crush on her. :D

I've always like that one Moody Blues cover. When I was younger, I framed the whole album for a wall decoration.

I love this one by ZZ Top. But then I like most of their album covers especially those with that car.

I remember that one, Fee! I don't have it, though.

Here's another one that I think is cool...no cars, though! :D

I have to agree...

I always thought that one was a little creepy as well! I'm going to have to dig up some of the ones I hate, but for now, here's another that I really like, since I'm a fan of Frank Frazetta...

I like the "unfinished" feel to this one:

As this was their 9th album, and they've done many more since then, the "unfinished" look fits very well...

Unfortunately, the photo is about the size of an audiotape box.
