Gardner, Daniel

Cellist who attended the International Musicians Seminar at Prussia Cove and appeared on Sheena Easton’s Fabulous album in 2001. Eventually, he became a member of the London Symphony Orchestra.

On 28th February 2002, he was one of the string musicians who accompanied pianist Andrew Wilde in recital at the Royal Northern College of Music. The program comprised Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Violin Sonata in G major, Op. 30/3”, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Two Piano Sonata in D major, K. 448”, and Franz Schubert’s “Quintet in A major, D. 667” (“Trout”).

Daniel made his solo debut in Manchester, England, on 4th December 2002. This time, Andrew Wilde accompanied him in a performance of Beethoven’s “Sonata in A”, Frederic Chopin’s “Sonata in G”, and Robert Schumann’s “Three Fantasy Pieces”.

In December 2011, Daniel was the cellist du jour in a KDC Theatre production of Talking Heads by Alan Bennett.

The LSO gave the European premiere of Andre Previn’s “Concerto for Violin, Viola and Orchestra” on 19th February 2012. Yuri Bashmet and Anne-Sophie Mutter were the soloists, and the composer conducted.
