She is a pianist and organist born Nancy Gottschling who was a member of the King’s Brass. In 1980 she met the trumpeter, Paul Herlein, who also performed with the ensemble and they were later married on Boxing Day 1981 and have two children.
She attended Macomb Community College where she studied for her Executive Secretary certificate and worked for the State of Michigan for 14 years. She has been the church secretary at Hope Community Baptist Church in Sterling Heights in Michigan for more than two decades.
