Hooke, Peter Van (6th April 1950-Present)

He is a drummer, bass player, composer and producer born in England.  His career has spanned well over thirty years and during the 1970s he was a member of Van Morrison’s band.

He was the drummer on the Marshall, Hain hit “Dancing in the City” in 1978 and from 1985 until 1995 he was the drummer for Mike and the Mechanics, returning to them in 2004.  Other bands and artists he has appeared with are James Dewar, Luka Bloom, Mecano, and ex-Camel member Peter Bardens.

As a producer, with his own recording studio in Le Gomera in the Canary Islands, he has seen success with the singer Tanita Tikaram, in collaboration with Rod Argent, and has also produced the television series Live From Abbey Road.

As a composer his works has appeared on the TV series The Two Of us, Alright On the Night and The Piglet Files and in the movies An Unsuitable Job For a Woman.
