Mackenzie, Norman

Conductor, director and keyboardist from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who debuted with the Philadelphia Orchestra on piano when he was twelve and on organ when he was twenty.

In 1985, he joined the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and filled a variety of roles for them:  accompanist, assistant choral conductor, director of choruses, and keyboardist.

He won three Grammys in the 2000s for recordings of Hector Berlioz’s Requiem, Osvald Golijov’s Ainadamar, and Ralph Vaughan Williams’ “Sea Symphony”.

In his free time, he has also been the music director at the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Atlanta.
