Miki, Hidehiko (1957-Present)

He is a bassoonist born in Kobe, Japan, who studied at Tokyo’s Toho Gakuen School of Music for four years from 1977.

In 1981 he relocated to the Netherlands and entered Amsterdam’s Sweelinck Conservatory where he remained until 1985/6 when he was awarded his degree.

After he had ventured out as a professional performer in the music world he was given the position of First Bassoon at Enschede’s Opera Forum.  He then became a bassoonist with the Northern Philharmonic Orchestra in Groningen.

Since 1990 he has performed as a member of the Netherlands Radio Symphony and the Netherlands Radio Chamber Philharmonic orchestras.
