Duke, David

He is a French horn player who has been active in the music industry since the 1960s but prior to that he was a horn player with the UCLA band in the mid-1950s and was a uniform manager when they wore their “Beefeater” uniforms, which they are now famous for, the very first time.

In the late 1960s he performed and recorded as a member of the Westwood Wind Quintet.

During his career he has also played with many other ensembles such as Abnuceals Emuukha Eletric Orchestra, Henry Mancini and His Orchestra, the Monterey Jazz Orchestra and Neil Norman and His Cosmic Orchestra.

Working as a much respected and sought after studio musician in the Los Angeles area for over four decades he has performed with countless artists and composers over the years,  Just a few of these are Cannonball Adderley, Ashford & Simpson, Michael Bolton, Teresa Brewer, Stanley Clarke, Dan Fogelberg, Dizzy Gillespie, Richard Harris, James Ingram, Etta James, Randy Newman, Maxine Nightingale, Harry Nilsson, Mike Post, Rhythm Heritage, Minnie Riperton, Kenny Rogers, Arturo Sandoval, Lalo Schifrin, Diane Schuur, Doc Severinsen, Stanley Turrentine, The Turtles, The Whispers, John Williams, Mason Williams and Nancy Wilson.
