Alamo, Tony (20th September 1934-2nd May 2017)

He was born Bernie Lazar Hoffman in Joplin, Missouri and is a controversial preacher, singer, entrepreneur and evangelist who became a religious cult leader.  He took “Alamo” as a stage name for his singing career and had a syndicated TV program in the 1970s.

He also ran a business that created sequined denim jackets but ended with him serving a jail sentence for tax evasion.

He married Edith Opal Horn, an actress using the name Susan Alamo, who died in 1982.  He passed away in 2017 when he was 82 years old.
