Allbut, Barbara “Bibs” (24th September 1940-10th July 2021)

Born in New Jersey, she was a founder of The Angels whose major hit was “My Boyfriend’s Back”. They had previously been known as The Blue Angels and The Starlets.

As a member of The Angels she backed stars including Neil Diamond , Jackie Wilson, Frankie Valli, Frank Sinatra and on the No.1 Lou Christie hit “Lightnin’ Strikes”.

She revived her songwriting career while the others continued to appear in concert with other early rock and roll performers. She still occasionally performed with The Angels.

She died in July 2021 when she was 80 years old.
