Anderson, John (oboe)

He is an oboist born in South Wales who studied the oboe when he was in school and took further studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London.

He began his career in Geneva, when he was twenty, with the Suisse Romande Orchestra. Since then he has appeared as a soloist with the BBC Symphony and the Philharmonia, and is principal oboist with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the English Chamber Orchestra . He also freelances and performs as a studio musician and soloist for recordings of film and television music.

As a teacher he is a Professor at the Royal College of Music in London and gives masterclasses and many international music schools.
