Anka, Paul (30th July 1941-Present)

He is a singer-songwriter and composer born in Ottawa, Canada whose first single was “I Confess” recorded when he was 14.

He went on to write “It Doesn’t Matter Anymore” for Buddy Holly, “She’s A Lady” for Tom Jones, the English lyrics for “My Way” and his 1957 hit “Diana” was written for a former babysitter.

He began acting in movies from 1960 and was the composer of the theme for The Tonight Show while Johnnie Carson was the host.

In 1990 he became a naturalized citizen of the US and has been appointed an officer of the Order of Canada, been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. France awarded him the title Chevalier in the Order of Arts and Letters.

He has five daughters and Amanda, the fourth one, is married to actor Jason Bateman and the fifth one, Alexandra is married to cyclist Jorgi Muller who was on Lance Armstrong’s PR team.
