Archibald, Norman (19??-29th June 2021)

He is a trumpeter, cornet player and teacher born in England who became a member of the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble and appeared in several of their recordings including their 1973 Classics for Brass and Pictures at an Exhibition by Mussorgsky.

In 1977 and 1980 he performed on the soundtracks of the first two Star Wars films as a member of the London Symphony Orchestra and later soundtracks he can be heard on are the Original Cast recordings of Phantom of the Opera, Evita and Midsummer Night’s Dream.

As a teacher his students included the acclaimed trumpet soloist Mark Cox.
