Barnes, Kathy (29th March 1951-6th October 2019)

She was a country singer-songwriter born in Henderson, Kentucky, whose single releases include her No. 50 in the country chart cover of Donovan’s  “Catch the Wind”, the No. 39 “Someday Soon”, “Be Honest With Me”, “I’m Available”, “Come to Me”, “Good n Country” and “Body Talkin’/I’m In Love With Love”.  Her brother was the recording artist Larry Barnes and her husband was Steve Hillock.

Her albums include Sings Gene Autry from 1977 and the following year’s Body Talkin’ saw her performing with artists that included Billy Puett, Sheldon Kurland, Farrell Morris and Hargus “Pig” Robbins .

She died of lung cancer in Greenville, South Carolina in October 2019 when she was 68 years old.
