Baxter, Jeffrey

He is a tenor, translator, arranger and choral administrator who became a member of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus under the leadership of Robert Shaw more than two decades ago. He has also appeared with other ensembles put together by Robert Shaw such as the Robert Shaw Chamber Singers.

No stranger to the recording studio he has been heard on many albums that include Angels on High: A Robert Shaw, Bach: Mass in B Minor, Beethoven: Symphony No. 9 in D Minor, Christmas with Robert Shaw, Dvorak: Stabat Mater, Handel: Messiah, Mozart: Requiem, Orff: Carmina Burana, Schubert: Songs for Male Chorus, Sibelius: Kullervo and the Grammy Award winning Berlioz: Requiem, Britten: War Requiem,Verdi: Requiem and Operatic Choruses and Bartok: Cantana Profana, Barber: Prayers for Kierkegaard, Vaughan Williams: Dona Nobis Pacem.

He has also done the text translation for the albums A Cappella Music for Choir and Choral Works: Copland, Durufle, Tavener, Williams, Messiaen & Tallis among others.

He currently holds the position of Choral Administrator with the 200-member Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus and continues to coach sing and with them under the chorus directorship of Norman Mackenzie.
