Bonnell, Bruce

He is a horn player and teacher who studied at the Northwestern University, Indiana University, Memorial University and the Guildhall School of Music in London.

His career as a horn player has seen him perform with orchestras worldwide including the Principal Horn for the Malaysian Philharmonic and the Second Horn in the Hong Kong Philharmonic. Other orchestras he has performed with are Ottawa Symphony, Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra and the Bloomington Camerata among others and he has been the Principal Horn of the Saginaw Bay Symphony Orchestra.

Having been praised by acclaimed conductors that include David Atherton, Hans Graf and Sir Neville Marriner he was awarded the President’s Medal for Music in 1990.

He has made recordings with the Powers Woodwind Quintet and with the flautist/photographer Vieri Bottazzini and the pianist Peter Green.

As a teacher he has been Assistant Professor of Horn at Indiana University and Instructor of Horn at Central Michigan University.
