Brown, Raymond

English trumpeter who in 1967 performed with The Beatles on their “A Day in a Life” on the Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album for which they had assembled a 40-piece orchestra specifically for the recording of that track. Here the co-musician, Raymond Premru, would become a fellow trombonist in the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble .

He became a member of the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble and appeared on recordings of theirs such as the 1969 Strings and Brass, the 1970 Just Brass, the 1976 Dictionary of the Dances of the Renaissance, The 20th Century Album and their Greatest Hits.
