Bumanis, Nora

She is a Canadian harpist who studied at the University of Toronto and the Salzedo Harp Colony in Maine.

Performing as a member of the orchestra and as a soloist, she has appeared with the CBC Radio Orchestra, the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, the Toronto Symphony and the National Arts Centre along with giving solo performances with several international major orchestras.

Since 1980 she has been principal harpist with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and also plays in a successful harp duo with Julia Shaw .

As a teacher she gives master classes at the Banff Centre and has been on the faculties of King’s University College and the Alberta College Conservatory and University.
