He is a guitarist, mandolin and dobro player, songwriter and airline pilot born in Utica, New York.
He joined the group Amazing Rhythm Aces in 1977 and stayed with them until 1981. Following their disbandment in 1981 he joined the group Sawyer Brown.
He left Sawyer Brown in 2003 after having had a successful career with them and went on to follow his dreams and become a pilot for Southwest Airlines.
