Childs, Alan (1952-Present)

He is a drummer from New York City who decided his career was going to be in music after seeing The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964.

He started out as a drummer on jingles, small gigs etc before answering an advert for a drummer with Nona Hendryx who had just left Labelle to go solo.  Since that time he has gone on to appear on tours and/or albums with many different artists during the course of his career. They include David Bowie, Julian Lennon, Belouis Some , Rod Stewart and John Waite to name a few.

Performing the music in Broadway shows he has worked in the productions of Rent, Tommy, Hairspray, Aida and All Shook Up.

Throughout his career he has featured on several recordings such as Secret Value of Daydreaming by Julian Lennon, Some People by Belouis Some , Afternoons in Utopia by Alphaville, Glass Spider by David Bowie and Ignition by John Waite.
