He is a trumpeter who studied at the Tennessee Technological University and in 2001 won a graduate assistantship to take further studies for a Masters of Performance at the University of Georgia.
He won Solo and Duet division at the Tennessee Trumpet Competition and the Brass Quintet Division at the National Trumpet Competition.
In his professional trumpeting career he has been a member of Tim Zimmerman & The King’s Brass, who he also recorded and toured with. He was a guest soloist for the Crossville and Tullahoma High School and 0ther ensembles he has performed with include the Nashville Wind Ensemble, the Brevard Music Center Orchestra, the Murfreesboro Symphony and the Bryan Symphony.
In the field of musical education he has been an Assistant at Hendersonville High School in Tennessee and for six years he was the Band Leader at Robert E. Ellis Middle School and Knox Doss Middle at Drakes Creek, Tennessee. More recently he has served as the 6th Grade Band Director and Brass Instructor for the Tullahoma Band Program He was also involved with the supply if musical equipment in Tennessee where he served as the All-State Equipment Chair and adjudicated various festivals in Middle Tennessee.
He has also worked on a freelance basis in Tennessee and been the Instrumental Director of the First United Methodist Church.
