Clark, Roger Allen (26th July 1950-24th May 2018)

He was a drummer and percussionist born in Chattanooga, Tennessee who began playing the drums at a young age and after having been noticed by musicians from his local area  began his career when he was 14.

He travelled and worked in various states in America and in Europe and was a founding member of the Muscle Shoals studio musicians who became very successful and worked in many studios as well as taking part in concerts.

During the course of his career he worked with artists that include Hank Williams jr, Steely Dan, Bobby Bare, Odia Coates, Roy Clark, Randy Crawford, Narvel Felts, Lobo, Roy Orbison, J. Geils Band, Uriah Heep, Tammy Wynette, Tom T. Hall, Amazing Rhythm Aces, Edward Bear, Doobie Brothers, Steve Miller Band, Wilson Pickett, Chuck Berry and many, many more.

He was a performer on gold and platinum albums and singles that total over 30 and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Muscle Shoals Music Association as well as being an Alabama Music Hall of Fame member.

He died of a heart attack at his home in Wilson Lake in 2018 when he was 67 years old.
