Collins, Rhonda (1961/2-Present)

She is a contralto/mezzo-soprano singer born into a family where her father was a preacher and who started singing while still a child.

She sang as a soloist with the Alton Symphony Orchestra in Illinois, singing “Seguidilla” from George Bizet’s Carmen in their 1986 Spring Concert.   She has also been a member of the Saint Louis Chamber Chorus and sang on their 1998 recording A Spanish Christmas.  She has been heard singing as part of the Saint Louis Symphony Chorus after being with them for 15 seasons.

Outside of her musical life she has been an elementary teacher in East Saint Louis.
