Cornelisse, Nellie

Cellist with the Cornhorst-kwartet, the Netherlands Radio Chamber Philharmonic, the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Netherlands Radio Symphony Orchestra.

On 28th January 2001, she teamed up with Ioannis and Lila Stratakis in a recital of Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Fur Elise” and “Trio op 70 in D-groot”, Gabriel Faure’s “Dolly”, and Jean Sibelius’s “Lulu” from the “Louisa Trio”.

The Netherlands Radio Symphony Orchestra and Groot Omroepkoor rang in the holidays on 21stDecember 2002 with Roel van Oosten’s “Quatre Noels Anciens”, Arvo Part’s “Cantus in memory of Benjamin Britten”, Alexandre Tansman’s oratorio, Isaie, le Prophete, and Ralph Vaughan Williams “Fantasia on Christmas Carols”.

On 5th October 2007, the Netherlands Radio Chamber Philharmonic and Groot Omroepkoor joined forces in a concert of Girolamo Abos’s Stabat Mater, Franz Joseph Haydn’s “Symfonie nr. 83 in g” (“La Poule”), and Jean Philippe Rameau’s “Suite uit Nais”.

The Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra offered up Sergei Prokofiev’s “Egyptische Nachten, suite op. 61”, Igor Stravinsky’s Petroesjaka, and Camille Saint-Saens’ “Concert voor piano en orkest nr. 5 op. 103 in F”, with Jean-Yves Thibaudet at the keys, on 26th October 2007.

On 21st December 2007, the Netherlands Radio Chamber Philharmonic and Groot Omroepfkoor honoured Advent with Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Orkestsuite nr 3 in D BWV 1068”, Francis Poulenc’s “Quatre motets pour le temps de Noel”, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Mis in c, KV 427, which was completed and reconstructed by Helmut Eder.

On 12th December 2008, the Netherlands Radio Chamber Philharmonic performed Mozart’s “Symfonie nr. 31 in C, KV297” and the overture from La clemenza di Tito, Gioacchino Rossini’s overture from Semiramide, and Hector Berlioz’s “Les nuits d’ete, opus 7”, with mezzo-soprano Vesselina Kasarova.

The Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, directed by Hans Graf, interpreted Anton Webern’s “Passacaglia, opus 1”, Dmitri Shostakovich’s “Symphony No. 10 in E opus 93”, and Alban Berg’s “Violin concerto” (“Dem Andenken eines Engels”), with violinist Benjamin Schmid, on 20th January 2009.

On 31st January 2009, the Netherlands Radio Chamber Philharmonic concertized in a program that included Aaron Copland’s “Appalachian Spring (suite)”, Charles Ives’ “Symphony No.3” (“The Camp Meeting”), Maarten van Norden’s “Epitaaf”, and Giel Vleggaar’s “Piano Concerto”, with soloist Ralph van Raat.

The Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, mezzo-soprano Anna Larsson, and tenor Stuart Skelton, paired Benjamin Britten’s “Sinfonia da Requiem opus 20” and Gustav Mahler’s “Das Lied von der Erde”, on 2nd April 2010.  In 2011 she appeared with the Metropole Orkest on the recording De Muziek van Charles Mingus.  

Since at lease 2014 she has been in charge of the Production Hall and Cello Maker Market at the Cello Biennale Amsterdam.
