Creamer, Laura

Singer-songwriter and background vocalist born Laura Polkinghorne in Detroit, Michigan, who has worked with a litany of artists and groups, including The Black Crowes, Michael Bolton, Eric Carmen, Cher, Eric Clapton, Dillard-Hartford-Dillard, Thomas Dolby , John Hiatt, Bruce Hornsby & The Range, Billy Joel, Barry Manilow, Van Morrison, Juice Newton, Olivia Newton-John, The Scorpions, Jackie De Shannon, and Neil Young.

She recently toured with Bob Seger in support of his album, Face the Promise, on which she appears.  She performed in a pair of Kid Rock concerts, where Seger made a surprise guest appearance, singing “Rock and Roll Never Forgets”.

Laura has her own band called LA Groove Mission that performs in the Los Angeles area.  She embarked on a solo career with the release of West of Detroit, an album that features ex-Eagles Glenn Frey and Joe Walsh .  It contains the song “By Heart”, which she and Jim Brickman took to #8 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart.

She has achieved something akin to cult status among fans of the Highlander TV series, having performed on several episodes, most notably “Homeland” in which she sang the traditional Celtic song “Bonny Portmore”.  It appears on the soundtrack album, Highlander Series:  Volume II.  That girl with the sword on the album cover is actually a likeness of Creamer, who modeled for the drawing.

Here she is performing vocals on the hit song “By Heart” with Jim Brickman on piano…..
