Crisp, Bryan

He is a trumpeter, cornet player and teacher who studied at the Tennessee Technological University and the Cincinatti College Conservatory of Music. Taking part in many competitions he has received first prize in the Tennessee Trumpet Competition, the National Trumpet Competition and won an ITG Scholarship for Outstanding Musicians.

As a performer he has appeared with the Cincinnati Symphony and Brass Band, Nashville Symphony, the Dayton Philharmonic, the Bryan Symphony, is the resident trumpet for the Cumberland County Playhouse, Crossville, Tennessee, and a member of Mr Jack Daniel’s Original Silver Cornet Band, the Cincinnati Ballet Orchestra and Tim Zimmerman & The King’s Brass .  He has also appeared in the orchestra for the Broadway show Peter Pan.

Taking part in many festivals he has featured at the International Trumpet Guild Conference, the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee, the Great American Brass Band Festival, the Medford Jazz Festival and the Sun Valley Jazz Jamboree among others.

Featuring on at least five recordings he can be heard on Classic Hymns by Tim Zimmerman & The King’s Brass among others.

In the field of musical education he has been the Assistant Band Director on the faculties of Cumberland County High and Elementary Schools in Tennessee, Adjunct Instructor of Trumpet at Wittenberg University and a teacher at the University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, the Tennessee Governor’s School for the Arts and various high schools in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee.
