Crouch, Sandra (1 July 1942-17th March 2024)

Gospel singer and percussionist born Sandra Elaine Crouch in Los Angeles, California, who successfully trod the line between Christian and secular music, recording as a member of her twin brother’s band, Andrae Crouch and the Disciples, as well as a solo artist on the album American Roots:  Blues.

She has also recorded with James Ingram, The Jackson 5, Elton John , Janis Joplin, Madonna and Kate Taylor.

A Grammy-winning vocalist and ordained minister, Sandra was a member of the Salvation Air Force Band and contributed her talents to the albums Handel’s Messiah:  A Soulful Celebration and Red, White & Blues, as well as performing at Carnegie Hall.

She died in March 2024 when she was 81 years old.
