Dahlor, Norm

Banjo player and bass guitarist who has been a mainstay in the Kansas City music scene for about thirty years.

He was in a band called Nation with Steve Davis and the two of them went on to perform with Secrets which toured tirelessly in North America in the ’80s, playing over two hundred shows a year.  It never translated into chart success, however a thousand pressings of “It’s Your Heart Tonight” sold quickly for the independent Titan Records.

Dahlor and Davis band-hopped to 4Sknns, then True Stories.  Norm also toured with Tommy Shaw, formerly of Styx, and did a brief stint with Shooting Star .  After that, he and Shooting Star violinist Charles Waltz co-founded Toledo Waltz and later JudyJudyJudy.  Waltz went on to play with the Young Dubliners and Dahlor followed suit by starting the Celtic rock band The Elders.

You can catch their act at venues such as Malloy Brothers Irish Pub and The Record Bar in Kansas City, Missouri.

Here he is in a performance of “Call a Wrecker”…
