He was a bass player, songwriter and backing vocalist born in Bethesda who was was a veteran member of Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band. He performed with the band for over twenty years, appearing on many of Jimmy Buffett’s recordings as well as extensively touring. He co-wrote the song “Volcano” with Jimmy Buffett and Keith Sykes.

He died of a heart attack at home in Falls Church, Virginia in 2003 when he was 51 years old.
