Daugherty, Robert W. (Bob)

Bassist who enjoyed a thirty-year career as a session musician, recording with Tony Bennett, John Lennon , and Barbra Streisand.  A pair of ’70s albums he appeared on are Joe Farrell’s 1978 release, Night Dancing, and Frank Sinatra’s 1979 boxed set, Trilogy.

He has also enjoyed an approximately forty-year career as a stringed-instrument repairer and restorer.  About ten of those years were spent learning the trade at Robertson & Sons in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Since then, he and his son Geoffrey have opened their own violin shop, where they give basses, cellos, violas and violins the full-service treatment.  If you stop in the Daugherty Violin Shop in Eureka, California, you can also buy or rent stringed instruments.  Photography is also a key function of their business.

He performs here…
