Eaves III, Hubert

He is a multi-instrumentalist and producer born Hubert Barclay Eaves in St. Paul, Minnesota, who was first taught piano by his father.  Heo formed a partnership with James Williams while still at high school in Brooklyn in the late 1970s and they became D-Train who had successful hits including “You’re the One for Me” and “Music”.  They disbanded in 1985.

From 1978-1980 he was part of the group Mtume .  He has worked with many artists in varying capacities including Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross and Aretha Franklin.  He acted as a backing vocalist and also released 3 R&B chart hits in the late 1980s.
