Evans, Katherine

Trumpeter and vocalist, sometimes credited as Catherine Evans, born in Boston, Massachusetts, who graduated in Music and English from Harvard in 1996 and obtained her Master’s degree at the Longy School of Music.  She appeared on the yuletide album, Christmas in the Busch.

Katherine has been a soloist with the Harvard-Radcliffe Bach Society Orchestra, the Waltham Symphony Orchestra and the Harvard-Radcliffe Baroque Orchestra as well as several other orchestras based in Massachusetts and in Vancouver at St. Andrews-Wesley, Christ Church and Holy Rosary.  She has been the principal trumpet with the Hingham Symphony Orchestra, the Brockton Symphony Orchestra and Newport Symphony Orchestra in Oregon.

She has also been a singer with St. Andrews-Wesley Vocal Ensemble, the Phoenix Chamber Choir and Music Intima.  She has been as a church vocal soloist and featured in a Loft Records recording of the Christ Church Schola of Rochester, New York.

In the field of musical education she has worked at the University of British Columbia School of Music and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra School of Music.
