Faris, Michael

He is a percussionist, conductor, composer and instructor who has appeared as an instrumentalist at the Cathedral of Saint Louis and as a conductor leading the Ladue High School Symphonic Ensemble.  He has also worked with the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis and appears as a performer on the recording Christmas at the Cathedral made by the Saint Louis Cathedral Choir .

As a composer he has published Initial Studies for snare drums and keyboard mallets and Snare Drum Essentials.

In the field of musical education he has been on the faculty of Webster University as a teacher percussion and held the position of principal percussionist with their symphony orchestra and director of their percussion ensemble.

In a developmental capacity he has worked with the percussion music therapy and educational company Joia Tubes and is a member of the Missouri Chapter of the Percussive Arts Society.
