Fearington, Basil

He is a bass player and vocalist who was a member of the band Mtume from 1978 to 1980.

He has appeared with artists that include Phyllis Hyman, K-Ci and Jo Jo, and Mary J. Blige, has performed on soundtrack recordings for films including Get on the Bus and Panther and appeared in the TV documentary Killing Me Softly: The Roberta Flack Story.

Performing on many albums he can be heard on You’re the One For Me by D-Train, Blue Lights in the Basement by Roberta Flack,  You Know How to Love Me by Phyllis Hyman, What Cha Gonna Do With My Lovin’ by Stephanie Mills, In Search of the Rainbow Seekers by Mtume, Now is the Time by Lou Rawls and Can’t Shake This Feelin’ by The Spinners among others.
