Fleming, William

Bass singer and specialist in early modern Japanese literature who studied at Harvard University and was a member of The Harvard University Choir and appeared on their yuletide offering, Christmas in the Busch.

He was a researcher at Tokyo’s National Institute of Japanese Literature, Kyosho University and Waseda University and became a teacher on the Theater Studies Program and in the Department of East Asian Languages at Yale University.  He went on to join the faculty of the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultural Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
