Forman, Steve

He is a percussionist, composer and  arranger who began his musical career performing with the Phoenix Symphony in Arizona.

Deciding to branch out, he began to work in Los Angeles and soon he was recording and touring with many acclaimed artists such as Christine Aguilera, Patti Austin, The Beach Boys, Michael Bolton, David Bowie, Jimmy Buffett, Kim Carnes ,The Cate Brothers, Pete Cetera, Rita Coolidge, Fleetwood Mac, Glenn Frey, Amy Grant, Josh Groban, Cissy Houston, Al Jarreau, John Lennon, Loggins & Messina, Dave Matthews, Sergio Mendez, The O’Jays, Pink Floyd, Poco, Eddie Rabbitt, REO Speedwagon, Lee Ritenour, Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor , and many more.

His growing collection of percussion instruments that he picked up over the years from many different countries were complemented by the addition of everyday articles such as hubcaps and soon he would become recognised for his unique style.  Very active in the film and television music industry he was one of the first percussionists working with a live orchestra that employed the use of computers.

His compositions, arrangements and/or performance can be heard on music for the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Home Improvement and in the movies Starship Trooper.For the Love of the Game, Breakdown, Payback, Dr. Dolittle, 10 Things I Hate About You, Switchback, Godzilla, Krippendorf’s Tribe, Crocodile Dundee in L.A. and countless others.

Deciding to venture into his own business in Venice, California, he set up the Tambourine Percussion Studio in 1997, which contains a wide range of percussive instruments from all over the world for use by composers and for recording.
