Gabbitas, Christopher (15th May 1979-Present)

He is a singer born in Plymouth, Devon, England but moved to Kent after his father left the Navy and became a professor.

He started singing as a chorister in Rochester Cathedral and then as a musical scholar in Uppingham School.  He became a choral scholar at St. John’s College, Cambridge, singing with the Collegium Regale and occasionally directing the ensemble The Gentlemen of St. John’s.

He received a Law Degree and attended Law School in Oxford and qualified as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court in 2003.  During this time he sang with the Christ Church Cathedral Choir while working in London, at the Temple Church.

He put his legal career on ice and became the second baritone of the King’s Singers in 2004.  While performing with them in the US in 2004 he met Stephanie Seales and they were married in 2006.

He performs here with The King’s Singers on “Down to the River to Pray”…
